Parading through Greenwood and Bridgeville
This holiday season our Seely Homes team was excited to participate in two local Christmas Parades hosted by the towns of Bridgeville and Greenwood.
On Friday, December 9th crowds lined the main streets of Greenwood to watch participants celebrate in the “Parade of Lights” theme. The line of people, cars, floats, and firetrucks adorned with sparkling lights stretched far outside of town. As the parade passed in front of Town Hall, judges picked their favorites.
The Seely Homes’ float featured our company truck and attached trailer decorated with an assortment of candy cane lights, traditional-Christmas lights, an inflatable Santa train, a Christmas tree, and a giant inflatable penguin that garnered audible gasps from on-lookers. Our team and children aboard the float wore glowing Christmas-light necklaces and waved extra-large Candy canes, while the owners Adrian and Julleanna walked behind decked out in holiday gear. The event was broadcast live on a local tv station, TV Delmarva, and Julleanna showed off her cartwheel in front of the camera! We loved being able to participate and wave to many familiar faces as we traveled the mile-long route through Greenwood.
The following night, December 10th, the town of Bridgeville held their annual parade, themed “Toys, Trains & Candy Canes.” Seely Homes’ decorated truck and trailer was on point with the theme and included additional embellishments of candy-cane and peppermint balloons. On Saturday night, the company mascot, Duke – a mini golden doodle, walked along with Adrian while Julleanna flitted around the float on a lighted scooter. This was our first time participating in the Bridgeville parade, and we look forward to returning to both events next year to join in bringing holiday cheer to our community!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
