Enjoy a look inside this custom “Holly” home design

Seely Homes is proud to showcase a recently completed home design based on ourHolly” floorplan, thoughtfully designed to balance everyday comfort with timeless style. With 2,145 square feet of living space, this home offers functionality, warmth, and beautiful views that make it truly special.

A sweet couple from Georgia, John and Robin Schmid, had been planning to build this home for years, knowing they wanted to retire to Delaware. They purchased a 6 acre parcel of land in Laurel, DE in 2022 and began planning their new home at that time. The Schmids waited a couple years to get closer to their retirement timeframe and were ready to build their new Seely Home in 2025!

They absolutely love their new home. From the moment they step onto the covered front porch, they’re welcomed into a home that feels both inviting and intentional. Inside, vaulted ceilings and abundant natural light create an open, airy atmosphere that flows effortlessly throughout the main living areas.

Designed for Living and Entertaining

This home features 3 spacious bedrooms, a dedicated office, and 2.5 bathrooms, making it ideal for families, retirement, or hosting guests. A large, separate dining room provides the perfect setting for meals and special gatherings, while the open layout ensures easy connection to the rest of the home.

The heart of the home is the kitchen, where extra cabinetry and expanded counter space offer both beauty and practicality. Whether they’re preparing everyday meals or entertaining friends, the thoughtful layout provides plenty of room to work, gather, and enjoy.

Warm Details & Thoughtful Touches

The living room centers around a cozy fireplace with a wooden mantle, adding warmth and character while creating a natural focal point. The Schmids carefully selected lighting to enhance each space, highlighting architectural details and making the home feel welcoming at any time of day.

Just beyond the main living area, the rear covered porch invites them to relax and take in the beautiful views, a perfect extension of the indoor living space and an ideal spot for quiet mornings or evening unwinding.

Room to Grow

In addition to the main living areas, this home includes a 300 SF unfinished bonus room, offering endless possibilities for future expansion—whether it becomes a home gym, guest suite, or creative space.

A 2-car garage adds everyday convenience, while the overall layout reflects Seely Homes’ commitment to craftsmanship, comfort, and livable design.

At their home closing, the Schmids brought a special touch of southern hospitality and prepared a home-cooked meal for our team to enjoy!
