A Delaware Barn Home Addition: From Garage to Luxury Owner’s Suite
This project beautifully transformed a charming barn-style home for a young family seeking both added space and enhanced functionality with a larger owner’s suite. The homeowners, with their 2 very young children and a well-loved dog required more square footage, but they were committed to staying in their current home, a tranquil location. They approached us with a vision of converting their one-car garage into a spacious owner’s suite with an upgraded bathroom designed to meet the growing needs of their family.
The couple wanted to create a luxurious yet functional master suite without compromising the character of their home or exceeding their budget. With this in mind, we developed a plan that included an elegant owner’s bedroom, a well-appointed bathroom with a tiled corner shower, a double-bowl vanity and a large walk-in closet.
Despite space constraints, we successfully designed and built an addition that maximized the potential of the existing structure. The new suite is now a perfect blend of comfort, style, and practicality, elevating the home’s functionality and value.
Our team successfully used new AND existing materials to make the exterior seamlessly blend with the rest of the home. Some of the existing siding was carefully and masterfully repurposed to cover the space where the garage door previously existed. The new color-matched siding blended beautifully on the added square footage.
The completed project adds significant value and curb appeal to the home, from the new quality flooring, beautifully detailed accent wall, luxurious master bath & closet, to the large, beautiful light-infusing window in place of the garage door.
