A Seely Homes Team Adventure
There’s something special about small towns in the fall — the crisp air, the warm colors, and the sense of slowing down just enough to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. This October, our Seely Homes team took a little time away from the office to soak it all in with a day trip to the charming town of Berlin, Maryland, often called “America’s Coolest Small Town.”
A Little Friendly Competition
To kick off the day, we split into two teams for a photo scavenger hunt around town. Armed with cameras, creativity, and plenty of enthusiasm, each team set out to capture the spirit of Berlin — from historic storefronts and hidden murals to pumpkins on porches and smiling shopkeepers. (Let’s just say the competitive spirit was alive and well!)
Team A’s photos received 330 total votes! Team J took the lead with 362 votes!! Woo hoo!

Lunch at Blacksmith
After our stroll around town, we gathered for lunch at Blacksmith Restaurant, a cozy spot known for its farm-to-table dishes and welcoming atmosphere. Between bites of delicious food and laughter over our scavenger hunt adventures, it was the perfect place to refuel and reconnect.
Getting Creative with Glass
Next up was one of the day’s highlights — a glass-blowing class with local artist Jeffrey Auxer. Inside his colorful studio, we each had the chance to create our own one-of-a-kind glass treasures. Each of us had the opportunity to craft either a beautiful glass Pumpkin or a colorful Starfish, each featuring its own unique swirl of colors. Watching molten glass transform into vibrant, hand-blown art was both mesmerizing and unforgettable.
Sweet Treats & Local Charm
No trip to Berlin is complete without sampling a little sweetness, so naturally, we made stops at a few local coffee shops and an ice cream shop for dessert. (2nd Wave Coffee & Social, Café Berlin & Rayne’s Reef Soda Fountain & Grill) Wandering through the streets with coffee in hand, we admired the fall décor and local boutiques that give Berlin its small-town magic.
A Day to Remember
Our Autumn in Berlin outing was more than just a team trip — it was a reminder of why we do what we do. At Seely Homes, we believe in building not just houses, but community. Taking time to laugh, explore, and enjoy moments together strengthens the bonds that make our team (and our work) so special.
